WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

There had been the odd conversation over the years discussing rowing the Atlantic but it was in late 2020 that the seed was firmly sown. Living our lives with Covid restrictions as a result of the global pandemic, and with people generally re-avaluating life priorities, we realised that it was time for action.

We believe strongly in the power of our focus to achieve this goal. As a team of busy working mums we want to show that age and gender are not obstacles in achieving something you really want to do.

It is also a fantastic opportunity for us to raise funds for charities that are close to our hearts.

THE NEW RANNOCH RX45-4 PERSON OCEAN ROWING BOAT

OUR HOME

We will be rowing in the brand new Rannoch RX45 4-person ocean rowing boat – a design that opens the next chapter for competitive ocean rowing teams.

The carbon RX45 is the natural development for Rannoch, building on the success of the now classic (ten year old design) Rannoch R45 – the boat that has taken more rowing teams across oceans than any other design – but is also refining the build process with less materials, making her both lighter but also more environmentally acceptable.

The boat is completely self sufficient, equipped with all of our food, drink and survival equipment. Electricity for essential navigation, water and communications devices is generated by solar panels – sustainable transport at its purist.

We are super excited to be one of the first crews to row in this beautiful new boat.
